Energy saving technology, also known as green technology, is technology which augments or replaces existing systems for a net energy savings. This type of technology helps decrease the impact of human activity on the environment. In modern society, many places are applied to energy-saving technologies, such as energy-saving lamps.

In our homes 20% of the energy is used by bulbs. Usually in houses we use incandescent bulbs. Incandescent bulbs light when the filament inside that bulb gets heated. This process takes 90% of energy. So anything that helps to reduce the power consumption will also help to reduce the electricity bill. It is easy to save energy and can reduce your electricity bill with the use of energy saving lamps.

More recently energy saving lamps were introduced as a new alternative to standard lamps. Energy-saving lamps offer a number of advantages over incandescent lamps. They are energy efficient, cost effective, and good for the environment. Energy saving lamps are considered a "green" option for lighting in the home and outdoors.

Energy saving lamps use 80% less energy than incandescent and up to 50% less than fluorescent lights. Thus, they help save energy and protect the environment. Unlike fluorescent lamps that contain harmful mercury, LED lamps are made of non-toxic materials.

Many years ago itself energy saving bulb was available. But due to the cost and size people were not interested in that. But now these lamps are available in all sizes and shapes and at comparable rates and also these lamps gives more light than the ordinary lamps. So people are now using these lamps and are now aware of the needs of energy savings.

Use Energy-saving Lamps, you will save a great deal of power, lower your utility bills, Even if you create the power with your own wind and solar systems, if you use less for your everyday lighting, you will have more for other things.
